Pedacito de Cielo (Little Piece of Heaven), located in the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia, is the first orphanage/daycare in all of Bolivia that has been specifically designed to serve the many needs of children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Our orphanage serves the immediate needs facing children who have lost heir parents due to AIDS, or are HIV+ and have been abandoned. Our daycare provides care for children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and their families, by offering the parents a safe place to send their kids in the day, providing family counselling, and opening up economic opportunities through a micro-loan progrma catering to the HIV/AIDS community. Both the orphanage and daycare also act as models of integration for existing centers that currently either lack proper considerations in regards to hygeine and health care, or discriminate against these children due to their connection to HIV/AIDS.
Pedacito de Cielo is only the first step in how we plan on involving ourselves with the community of those affected by HIV here in Bolivia. We are working in close collaboration with various civic groups, medical professionals, and government agencies, to ensure the best care possible for our children.

Goodbye First PresToday we said goodbye to an awesome team that was visiting up from First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue. Thanks to their investment and hard work, we were able to move all of PDC in one week!
