Currently, we have 3 major focus areas: Holistic Care, Integration, and Staff Development. Each of the four major projects we support incorporates these focus areas.
Pedacito de Cielo, our baby and infant home, provides residential care for up to 12 children, and can accept up to 12 more children during the day for daycare. The focus here is on the integration of children living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and other immunodeficiencies. As this is the first home of its kind in Bolivia, we are regularly training our staff to ensure they are equipped to provide the special care required by these children. Learn more here.
Corazón del Pastor, our home for girls and adolescents, has a capacity of 22 and likewise aims to integrate girls living with special needs, including HIV/AIDS. All of these girls have either been orphaned, abandoned, or removed from high-risk situations. Learn more here.
Finally, in an effort to prevent further children from entering a children’s home or the streets, we work directly on an individual basis with impoverished families in need through our outreach One Child at a Time. We believe that by improving the conditions in which a family is living, we can diminish the likelyhood of childhood illness, abandonment, and domestic violence. Learn more here.
